In a previous post we talked about the health benefits of honey and apple cider vinegar and it really got people talking. We decided that because you liked that post so much we would share a few more all natural health tips to make life a little easier (and healthier).
Avocado face masks: Avocado is packed with vitamins E and B6 — along with moisturizing mono-saturated fats — avocados are a popular ingredient in cleansing facial masks. Make one at home by mixing the ripe, mashed avocado with plain yogurt. Or you can just mash the avocado and apply it directly to your face!
Honey as chapstick: Soothe chapped lips. Mix sweet almond oil, beeswax, and honey for a soothing lip balm that protects against dryness.
Black tea for sunburns: Gently applying chilled black tea to the affected area will help soothe the skin, and the tea’s tannins can help speed the body down its road to recovery!
Baking soda for heartburn: Take 1/2 teaspoon in a full glass of water after meals for relief. ( If you are watching your sodium this might not be for you as baking soda contains high amounts of sodium).
Lemon juice for an insect repellent: The citric acid in lemons can act as a natural insect repellent. Spray lemon juice around doors and cracks where ants are entering the house to keep them at bay. Washing floors with a lemon juice/warm water mixture can also help repel roaches and fleas, and hanging dried lemon peels in the closet can keep away moths.
