Sports Physicals
Dr. Michael Jorgensen is able to perform sports physicals in the office. You are required to bring in the necessary forms that must be completed and we will do the rest! A sports physical at our office is a 30 minute appointment that involves recording heart rate, blood pressure, height, weight, and an overall evaluation of whether or not it is safe for your child to participate in school sports.
Why choose chiropractic care for sports physicals?
Sports physicals done in our office are detailed and comprehensive. Often times, sports physicals performed by physicians are focused primarily on potential "medical" conditions based on current symptoms and medical history. Because of this focus, the evaluation of structural compenents is often skipped or only briefly looked considered. A sports physical should evaluate the whole body to evaluate, treat, and prevent sports injuries. That is exactly what chiropractic care does. It evaluates the whole body in order to treat current symptoms AND to be proactive in preventing future ones.

At Family Chiropractic & Wellness, we consider medical conditions as well as structural components. The structural components we evaluate are the entire musculoskeletal system: the bones, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments, joints, and other connective tissues. This detailed evaluation allows us to truly understand your child's ability to play sports, gives you and us an understanding of potential injuries or struggles playing certain sports, and allows us to help you be proactive when it comes to your child's health both in and out of their sport!
